At twilight
the winter day wanes.
In the valley
the blue mist descends
like a blanket
on the trees.
I strain to see
the crepuscular wanders
of nimble deer
bereft of light
and fear.

You should have been there 🙂 There was definitely an otherworldliness about it.

Hi … I was there last May .. on a road trip from NY to Austin with Shenanoah a definite destination -a dedication to my Dad who used to sing of her magic in the famous song. She was all that was promised and more. Beautifully serene.
Did not realise you maintain two sites… was wondering why I had not seen too many posts on January’s Dream. I like the title and tag line. Way to go !!!

I lived there briefly as a child and it was wonderful to re-visit and see the sights I recalled with my parents! For sure it is a lovely & memorable place. I have my “seasons” as a blogger & I began this site to devote to random DailyPrompts as opposed to my JanuarysDream.wordpress.com Both have been on sabbatical off & on 😉

The Shenandoah Valley is a gorgeous place to live. Are you living there now?

Not anymore. We’re further north in Maryland now. But we loved it while we were there.
