November Prophets

In November the sunlight
dapples over dead leaves
wind rustles memories free
storms sweep tombs, unearth bones
beleaguer dead valleys to awaken
an exiled Ezekiel’s breath:
“The end is not night
Sleep is not death
Your seed-borne husk betokens
Jerusalem’s dawn is nigh.”

  1. Such powerful verse:

    “storms sweep tombs, unearth bones
    beleaguer dead valleys to awaken…”

I love your writing, it never fails to stun me with your creativity and imagery.

  2. I love the setting of the November scene in the opening lines, Dora, especially ‘wind rustles memories free / storms sweep tombs, unearth bones’, the wrecking ball of the season, and then you remind us that all is not lost.
