Hope in the Lord

Psalm 131 (ESV) A Song of Ascents. Of David.

O LORD, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.

But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.

The unearned splendor of being means we can always meet on a common plane of gratitude, aiming in conversation, art, or writing towards “something understood.”

  1. Thank you for this reminder Dora! This is so essential and something we should remember everyday. To think about it, it was written by a king, the highest political position in his realm. Blessings to you and your family!

    1. Kent,
      How humbling to remember that when we find the clamor of responsibility a distraction from resting with contentment in the Lord! Thank you for pointing that out. Have a blessed week walking with the Lord.
